Consejos básicos sobre cuándo usar el Súper Pegamento, en qué utilizarlo, cómo utilizarlo y cómo retirarlo.
Not all glues are alike. Super glue is specially designed to form strong bonds on materials such as metal, ceramic, leather, rubber, vinyl, some plastics and many similar surfaces. For a better hold on smooth surfaces gently rough up the spot you plan to glue with sandpaper or steel wool first.
The glue will adhere to any debris that might be present, so thoroughly clean the surface before gluing and allow it to dry completely.
Unlike white glue, super glue begins bonding immediately when it comes into contact with moisture in the air and on surfaces. This means that a thicker layer of glue will actually decrease the strength of the bond and increase the amount of time it takes to finish bonding.
When it comes to super glue, a thin layer will hold tighter. A good rule of thumb is one small drop of glue per square inch of surface.
Although super glue is meant to last, there are steps you can take to safely weaken bonds and free up gluing mistakes. Baby oil and warm, soapy water will soften super glue bonds. Simply soak glue spots, then use a dull metal object to gently pry apart.
Repeat the process if one round doesn’t do the trick. If you need to reduce thicker glue build-up, try using fine grain sandpaper or a nail file.
